Dr. Iris F. Perkins
Embroidery Instructor
Dr. Perkins is educated in an array of balanced disciplines and is an entrepreneur living in Hampton, Virginia and owns a business that offers embroidered items as a service. She hired and counted on others to embroider her products for her customers but soon grew aggravated of paying additional costs to the middleman and missing important deadlines because of the extra steps required to satisfy her customer base. It was then that Dr. Perkins taught herself how to use a 1-needle PE770 embroidery machine but soon found out it could not handle the workload. She decided to take the plunge and purchased the 10-needle Brother PR1050X but had no idea how to use it. This new machine was a night and day transition from the 1-needle Brother PE770 and Dr. Perkins had to learn it quickly to keep up with customer requests. She received a crash course to learn how to use the machine, from someone who was an acclimated embroiderer, who also owned several machines including, a 6-needle & a 10-needle machine and then she was well on her way to success. As customer request grew, she also purchased a Brother Innovis NQ1400E. That has been sometime ago and Dr. Perkins is now an expert in this field of study and she wants to share all that she has learned with as many people who want to know how to be proficient with the 10-Needle Brother PR1050X & 1-Needle Brother Innovis NQ1400E embroidery machine.
